OUR MISSION

At Pottery 123 our mission is to guide aspiring pottery enthusiasts in mastering fundamental techniques like hand building, slab building and wheel throwing. We specialize in working with beginners to help them achieve proficiency in pottery.

And, just think of all the benefits that experiencing and learning pottery can give you:

WHY POTTERY?

- A sense of accomplishment: Completing a pottery project can be a rewarding experience that boosts confidence and self-esteem. If others like what you've created you may even think about selling your pieces!

- Stress relief: By being in a relaxed environment with other like-minded explorers, pottery can help reduce mental stress and physical pain caused by stress.

- Creativity: Pottery is a way to express yourself and bring out a creative side of you that you may not have known even existed - and there's no right or wrong way to do it.

- Fine motor skills: Working with clay improves hand-eye coordination as well as arm and hand muscle strength.  Think of it as creative physiotherapy.

- Patience and persistence: Pottery requires patience and concentration at every stage, from centering the clay to finishing it.

- Flaws add character and value: The value in pottery is that each piece is unique and any flaws or random ideas can actually add to the beauty and artistry of a piece.

- Community and relationship building: By participating in our group sessions, or just even being in the studio after classes for practice, you  become part of a close-knit community of other people who have similar interests and who can help and support you in your creativity journey.
